Al Palewicz has lived in Miami, Fla. since 1955. After graduating from
the University of Miami with a Bachelor Degree in Education, he played
professional football in the N.F.L. for four years after which he taught
high school English within the Dade County School System for six years.
During the 1990's aftermath of the Federal government's shutdown of numerous
Savings and Loan, he concentrated on the foreclosure auctions conducted
by the now-defunct Resolution Trust Corporation (RTC) whose purpose was
to auction-off the assets of the failed Savings and Loan. While representing
an out-of -state client who had made a successful bid on a bulk sale of
non-performing mortgages for seven properties, he became comfortable with;
the foreclosure procedures of Miami-Dade County, zoning ordinances for
the city of Miami, Coral Gables and Dade County, construction objectives
of local builders, collecting estimates for repairs and subsequent bids
from local contractors, and the concerns of numerous neighborhood associations.
